Esra Beyatlı was born in 1971 in İzmir, Turkiye. Her love for books took root at an early age, during countless hours spent in her father’s bookstore in Konak, İzmir.

After earning her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Ege University, she went to the United States to pursue a master’s degree in Business Administration.

During her many years in America, she worked as a financial controller while continuing to support her family’s business.

​

After marrying in 2001, her husband’s hometown, Cyprus, became an increasingly central part of her life. Once their daughter started university, they began dividing their time between Turkey, Cyprus, and Texas.
